Cher Krichmar has been the sisterhood president of two different sisterhoods. In her current sisterhood, she has been sisterhood president twice. Cher became an area director and served in the early part of 2000 on the WRJ Board. Cher has served on the district board also as VP of Development, VP of Affiliations, VP of Area Directors, First Vice President, and District President of the Pacific District. She is now the immediate past president of Pacific District.

How did you come to be a WRJ leader?

Like many women, I joined sisterhood when my kids were little, and we belonged to a small, conservative synagogue. Eight years later, the synagogue merged with a Reform congregation.

In this Torah portion, we read about Moses and his dilemma of bringing his people out of Egypt and bondage. He cannot persuade his people to accept G-d’s wishes. He wonders, if his people rebuff him, how will he convince Pharaoh to believe him?
