Abby Gilbert is a WRJ North American Board Member and Chair of the 2023 Nominating Committee. A prior WRJ Philanthropy Committee member Abby previously chaired the WRJ Annual Appeal and the inaugural On-line Holiday Auction. Abby also serves as an Area Director on the WRJ Atlantic District Board and is an active member of the Sisterhood of Congregation Beth Or in Maple Glen, Pennsylvania.

This double parashah is difficult because of the violence, the injustices that women endured, and God being cast as a vengeful god. Yet, in our time, we also face the issues of violence, injustice, and sometimes a war carried out in God’s name. Still, we can learn lessons of compromise and responsibility to the larger community in this parashah and apply them to our current environment.
